Description of treatment

Therapeutic approach – Reem works integratively, drawing on her training in CBT, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Humanistic Therapy models, as well as psychology knowledge and research, to support the unique needs of individuals and their aims for therapy.

Reem works holistically, seeking to understand each person’s subjective experience, values and beliefs, as well as cultural and social context, in order to develop a meaningful understanding of their distress and what constitutes individual resilience, health and wellbeing.

Reem understands how challenging seeking psychological support can be and is welcoming, empathic, open and respectful, and works confidentially, collaboratively and ethically, to develop trust and a safe space in which clients can feel free to explore difficult and painful experiences without fear of judgement.

Life experience
In addition to her clinical experience, Reem has 25 years professional experience working in international management, teaching, communications, community outreach, cultural relations and development roles in charity, private and public sectors, working with a wide range of organisations and people from different cultures, faiths and social backgrounds, both in the UK and extensively overseas. This has informed her understanding of the different pressures and contexts in which people live and influences her open, curious and pluralistic approach and value for diversity.
