Gladys HallAbout our Therapist
Gladys is a qualified massage therapist dedicated to providing quality therapeutic massages and educating people on overall health and wellness.  Gladys has experience of working in both Coming primary and secondary care organisations.  She decided to set out on a new path in 2013 and turned her energies to pursuing a career that would reflect her lifestyle of health and well-being.

Her passion for bodywork was piqued after she was diagnosed with a serious illness in 2006 and decided to change her lifestyle and incorporated various therapeutic treatments such acupuncture, shiatsu, reflexology, visualisation, hydrotherapy, hyperthermia, massage, etc. in order to support my healing process.  She is extremely passionate about the positive effects of complimentary therapies (especially massage) on the body as well as the mind.  So when she decided it was time to make a career change, there was no question, massage therapy was the right choice for her.

Gladys has an ITEC Level 3 diploma in Holistic Swedish Massage, Anatomy & Physiology & Business Awareness.  She has also undertaken continuous development courses in Thai table massage and hands free massage.  She is currently studying Holistic Nutrition and has a desire to share her passion for well-being with others and truly believes stress & wrong choices in nutrition to be the underlying factors to most problematic issues that we become faced with in life. Her aim is to reduce this stress as much as possible, through the use therapeutic practices such as massage.   Massage Treatments offered:

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage is based on the Western concepts of anatomy and physiology, as opposed to energy work on “meridians” or sen lines in Asian massage systems.   In all Swedish massage, the therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil and performs various massage strokes. These movements warm up the muscle tissue, releasing tension and gradually breaking up muscle “knots” or adhered tissues, called adhesions. Swedish massage promotes relaxation, among other health benefits.

Hands Free Massage
In Hands Free Massage the therapist uses a variety of techniques specifically designed to relax muscles by applying pressure to them against deeper muscles and bones, and massaging in the same direction as the flow of blood returning to the heart.   The main purpose of Hands Free Massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles by utilising tools other than our hands and thumbs.

Thai Table Massage
Thai Table Massage is an adaptation of Traditional Thai Massage which is usually carried out on the floor with the client fully clothed and without the use of Carrier Oils.  The use of a couch/table makes the benefits of Thai Massage available for both client and therapist, who may have difficulties in getting down or up from the floor.  Thai Massage techniques combine massage with yoga-like positions during the course of the massage.  It is based on the belief that disease is due to an imbalance of the body’s energy flow and the use of massage is one way to re-dress this imbalance and assists in the healing of the whole person.
