Phil is a counselor, trained and qualified to work with both individuals and couples. He has been working as a counselor since 2006 and is a full Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists MBACP(Accred) and abides by their ethical code of practice (www.bacp.co.uk).
Phil uses an approach, often called integrative, which has at its heart a flexible combination of counselling and psychological methods to match and address your concerns and gain your objectives or even help you develop these if you are uncertain. This is done within a non-judgemental, empathic and respectful attitude to you and your concerns.
Phil works in the areas of: anxiety and stress, anger management, depression, loss & grief (post affairs, bereavement, redundancy etc) and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
As a relationship counsellor, He has experience in dealing with the extensive range of problems that arise from affairs and post affair work, rowing, drifting apart, the impact of children on relationships, problems arising from working away from home, the changing roles of couples in retirement and redundancy, changes in the approach and expectations within a relationship and many other aspects of relationship issues.
In addition to Phil’s work as a counsellor, since 2007 He has been employed as a lecturer preparing counselling courses and teaching counselling to trainee counsellors.
