Experience better Health and Wellbeing with Exercise

A recent study showed that 80% of British adults don’t get sufficient exercise, that is 3 times a week for 50 minutes at a time.

Is 2.5 hours a week really a substancial amount of exercise to get sufficient health benefits from exercise? Of course it’s better than nothing but the reality is the more you put in the more you get out.  Walking, running, swimming, yoga, pilates, aerobics, zumba, cycling, there are many forms of exercise to suit your age, ability and fitness level. Whichever ones suit you, here are some very good reasons why you should get regular exercise:

  • It helps maintain a healthy weight
  • Exercise can significantly reduce the risk of early dealth
  • Regular exercise improves and heart health, reducing risk of heart disease and stroke etc.
  • It can help prevent cancer
  • Regular exercise is a great way of helping to prevent type-2 diabetes
  • Improved bone and joint health is a positive effect of exercise, reducing the risk of osteoarthritis
  • We sleep better after exercise
  • Feel good about yourself and the world, mental health is improved with exercise from uplifting your mood to helping fight depression
  • You can help prevent the onset of dementia with exercise
  • Elderly people that exercise regularly experience less falls than those that do not exercise
  • For those with high blood pressure, exercise is crucial for regulating lowering it
  • Exercise breeds energy, regular exercise will increase your energy levels
  • Better digestion is experienced with exercise
