What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy which works on the principle that certain areas of the hands, ears and feet that are connected to various organs in the body. The reflexology practitioner usually massages the feet with fingers and thumb or the reflex areas on the feet to release tension, improve circulation and bringing the body back in to balance. It also works on the feet to aid healing to the whole person not just the prevailing symptoms.

The treatment sessions usually lasts about 45 to 60 minutes depending on the conditions treated. As with most therapeutic treatments, on the first session the practitioner will take a detailed personal history before proceeding with the treatment, as there may be certain conditions where it would not be appropriate to choose a particular therapy or treatment.
Light but firm pressure is used to massage the soles and feet. Sometimes clients report some dramatic reaction after the first treatment such as increased bowel movements, cold type symptoms or skin problems which are considered to be healthy reactions to the release of harmful toxins from the body.
