5;2 Diet Kingston Natural Health Centre

LOSE WEIGHT, STAY HEALTHY, LIVE LONGER

This week Jan 10, saw the publication of Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer’s book “Lose Weight, Stay Healthy, Live Longer”.  The book follows the most excellent BBC Horizon documentary shown on August 10 last year and is becoming known as the 5:2 diet.

We believe the 5:2 diet is set to revolutionise the weight loss industry.   Basically. this regime of eat normally for 5 days a week then fast for 2 days.  The 2 days can either be consecutive or odd days. During the fast days, ladies are permitted to eat up to 500 calories per day and men 600.

There are potentially important health benefits which we will go into at a later date but for overweight people the weight loss factor is compelling.

In simple terms, dieting is generally miserable and the main reason for the failure of most diets is because we do not want to be miserable.   The 5:2 diet allows normal eating for five days a week so miserable days are restricted to two days.   With the right mindset the two fasting days need not be miserable – spend these days looking forward to eating after the fast day(s).

It is not a diet but a way of life.   Millions of people across the world are having great  success with this not only losing and maintaining weight but also enjoying it. Although it is still early days as the diet is easy and in fact really enjoyable we feel it will be a lifestyle choice that people will choose long term.

Over the years we have seen many diets come and go. Most of us trying to be healthy have tried various diets with various degrees of success.   Some of us have slipped back and others have maintained their weight loss.

If you are currently doing the 5:2 diet or have any experience of it we’d love to hear from you. Please email us on info@kingstonnaturalhealth.com
