Could miscarriage be preventable?

With statistics as high as 1 in 7 positive pregnancy tests ending in miscarriage The University of Coenhagen have concluded after a study that 1/4 of miscarriages could be preventable.

The study, published in BJOG followed 91,427 pregnant women over a 6 year period and concluded that being over 30 and drinking alcohol were the 2 of highest risk factors in pregnancy along with the following:

• Lifting 20kg or more in weight daily
• being obese or underweight 
• Working nightshifts
• Excessive or no exercise
• Smoking
• drinking too much coffee
